There are horror stories of hair extensions tangling up.  How do I avoid this?

Whenever hair extensions tangle, it is almost always a problem of hair quality.  If you are interested in extensions, always look for a specialist who uses high quality 100% remy human hair.   With remy hair, each and every strand of hair is cuticle correct.  This means that the cuticle layer of all of the strands is running in the same direction.  Remy hair is gently processed, and it looks and feels just like your own natural hair. It is easy to manage and style with very few tangles.

Non-remy hair extensions are created from cheaper quality hair, taken from brushes or off the floor, stripped of its cuticle layer, and then coated with a silicone layer to make it appear shiny.  After a few washes, the silicone layer washes off, and then the problems begin.  Tangling, matting and knotting all occur, and the hair becomes messy and unruly.

With quality hair that is cuticle correct, tangling is almost never an issue.  If hair does tangle, it is generally minimal and fingers or a wide tooth comb can be used to detangle.
